A Pending Bridge Quote Is Not a Reason to Send Again

A pending bridge quote does not by itself mean a transfer failed or that funds were sent. Check whether the bridge created a transaction before you start another one.

A quote is the route and terms a bridge proposes for moving assets between networks. It can remain pending while the app fetches prices, checks available routes or waits for a wallet response. A page about how Manta bridge transfers and swaps work explains why a bridge may involve more than one step. The key distinction is whether the wallet was asked to approve or submit a transaction.

What does a pending bridge quote mean?

It usually means the bridge has not finished preparing or displaying the transfer terms. Until you approve a transaction in your wallet, a quote alone generally cannot move your tokens.

Quotes can expire or change as network fees and route availability shift. If the app shows a new quote, compare the destination network, token and amount before approving it.

How can you tell whether the transfer was submitted?

Look for a transaction record in the wallet and a status in the bridge interface. A submitted transaction may appear as pending on the source network before the bridge can process the next step.

  • No wallet approval or transaction record: the transfer may not have been submitted.
  • A pending source transaction: wait for its status to update before retrying.
  • A confirmed source transaction: check the bridge’s progress and destination wallet.

These checks show where the process stands; they do not guarantee a transfer will complete. A transaction hash, when available, identifies the on-chain submission and helps distinguish it from a quote that never reached the network.

When is it safe to try again?

Retry only after checking the wallet and bridge for an existing transaction. If the first submission is still pending, sending again can create a second transfer, with separate fees and a separate amount at risk.

If the app and wallet disagree, pause and use the bridge’s transaction status or support guidance before approving anything else. For most users, waiting for a clear status is safer than treating a slow quote as a failed transfer.
