Fairshake backs 32 House candidates as crypto bill stalls

With the CLARITY Act stalled in the Senate, crypto PAC Fairshake said Monday it will support 32 House candidates from both parties in November’s midterm elections.

  • 32 candidates: 19 Republicans and 13 Democrats.
  • Six candidates will each receive $1 million in spending.
  • Fairshake has not disclosed spending totals for the other 26 races.

The slate was first provided to the Associated Press, which reported Fairshake’s House plans. All 32 supported the industry-backed market structure bill.

Which House candidates get $1 million?

Fairshake named three Democrats: Janelle Bynum of Oregon, Steven Horsford of Nevada and Derek Tran of California. The three Republicans are French Hill of Arkansas, Bryan Steil of Wisconsin and Bill Huizenga of Michigan.

The other 26 candidates are also incumbents. Fairshake spokesperson Geoff Vetter did not tell Roll Call how much the group plans to spend on their races, according to its report on the PAC’s slate.

What does the stalled CLARITY Act have to do with the slate?

The House passed the CLARITY Act in July 2025. It would establish rules for digital asset markets, a priority for crypto firms seeking regulatory certainty.

The Senate blocked the measure last month on a bipartisan procedural vote. Lawmakers had not reached agreement on ethics safeguards and other provisions, leaving the legislation’s path forward unresolved.

Fairshake says it backs candidates who support crypto and innovation in both parties. Its spending plan puts money behind lawmakers who supported the bill, but the exact scale of most House investments remains open.

Where else could Fairshake spend?

In September, the group announced plans to spend nearly $30 million against Democratic Senate candidate Sherrod Brown in Ohio. Fairshake has not said whether it will make additional House or Senate investments before the election.
