Fermi swap routes: judge the quote, not the hop count

Choose a fermi swap route by comparing the net tokens it should deliver at your trade size, not by counting its hops. A direct swap may be simpler, but a route through another asset can sometimes find a better price.

What makes one fermi swap route better?

The better route leaves you with more of the token you want after costs. Compare the quoted output for the same input amount and account for network gas and any route or protocol fees.

FermiSwap is an Ethereum prop AMM, a market maker that fills trades from its own token inventory rather than a shared liquidity pool. When assessing a fermi swap, treat the displayed route as a quote for a particular trade size; available inventory and the market price can change.

For a multi-hop route, each leg converts through an intermediate token. That can reach liquidity the direct pair lacks, but it also adds execution steps and can expose more of the trade to price movement.

How should I compare the quoted outputs?

Compare like with like: use the same input, destination token and slippage limit. Check the estimated amount received after fees, and include gas in the comparison if the interface provides a reliable estimate.

  • Net output after fees
  • Gas cost for the full transaction
  • Quote freshness and the block or time it reflects
  • Minimum output set by your slippage tolerance

A larger gross quote can lose its edge after gas or fees. A quote is an estimate, not a guarantee of the amount the transaction will deliver.

What is confirmed, and what remains open?

The confirmed mechanics are straightforward: FermiSwap uses inventory-based market making, while a multi-hop route trades through intermediate assets. The route’s displayed output and terms are what matter for the specific order.

What remains open until execution is whether the quoted inventory and market conditions will hold. Recheck the final output and minimum received before signing; a tight minimum limits how much worse the fill can be, but may cause the transaction to fail if the market moves.

For most traders, the practical choice is the route with the strongest net output at an acceptable gas cost and a minimum received they can live with. The shortest fermi swap route is not automatically the cheapest.
