Uniswap brings aggregator hooks to three chains

Uniswap v4 uses hooks to extend how its pools work. Uniswap Labs has now launched Aggregator Hooks on Ethereum, Base and Robinhood Chain, letting its router include outside liquidity in swaps.

  • Three supported chains: Ethereum mainnet, Base and Robinhood Chain.
  • Seven external sources at launch, which Uniswap says cover more than 90% of DEX activity on those chains.
  • Uniswap says more than $4.5 trillion has been swapped through its protocol.

According to Uniswap Labs’ launch announcement, the feature is available in the Uniswap Web App and API. The company says more chains and sources are planned, but has not provided a schedule.

How do the hooks route outside liquidity?

Each hook wraps an external source so a router can treat it like a Uniswap v4 pool. The router pulls fresh quotes from connected sources every block, then builds a route across Uniswap pools and outside liquidity.

The full route settles in one transaction, and users do not need to approve anything new, Uniswap said. External sources are included automatically in Web App swaps; developers can also access them through the API.

Which outside sources are included?

Fluid, Curve and PancakeSwap are among the launch sources, The Block reported. Uniswap’s announcement confirms seven sources but does not name them individually.

The stated coverage figure is Uniswap’s estimate for DEX activity across the three chains. The announcement does not give a measurement period or a breakdown by chain.

What do the hooks mean for UNI?

Swaps routed through external sources pay Uniswap protocol fees, which the company says contribute to UNI burns. The announcement does not specify the fee rate or how much activity will pass through the hooks.

The launch expands v4’s routing reach while bringing external trades into Uniswap’s fee mechanism. Its effect on swap volumes and UNI burns remains open.
